BEAVER, KY. (April 02, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 9, Pikeville, received a 911 call on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, reporting that a male had been assaulted in the Beaver community of Floyd County. KSP troopers and investigators responded to a residence on Kentucky Route 979. The preliminary investigation indicates during a physical altercation, Jeremy Tackett sustained life-threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation, Dravin Hamilton, 20, of Floyd County, was taken into custody and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center. Hamilton has been charged with Assault 2nd Degree. A 16-year-old juvenile was also charged with Assault 2nd Degree and lodged in the Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Center. Detective Justin Wireman is leading the investigation and was assisted on scene by KSP Post 9 personnel. # # #
